Jozo Simunovic slammed by Bosnia team-mate

Jozo Simunovic has been criticised by Bosnian international midfielder Anel Hadzic, after the Celtic star made an incredible international u-turn.

Last year, Simunovic decided that he no longer wanted to represent Croatia at international level, saying he wanted to play for Bosnia instead as he was angry at the Croatian FA.

When then-Bosnia manager Mehmed Bazdarevic heard of his all out with the Croatian FA, he offered Simunovic the chance to play for Bosnia, a team he qualified for thanks to the nationality of his parents.

However, ahead of the upcoming international friendlies, Simunovic told new Bosnia boss Robert Prosinecki that he didn’t want to be selected as he wanted to focus on his form at Celtic.

Hadzic, when asked about Simunovic’s decision, did not hold back, saying that the Celtic man should never be called up again:

He said:

Whoever refuses to play for Bosnia once should never get asked again. The shirt of the team should be worn by those who sincerely love our Bosnia and Herzegovina. To wear the shirt should mean to give blood and sweat for the fans, who spend their last penny supporting us around the world.
