Hearts clash moved to Murrayfield

Celtic’s Scottish League Cup semi-final against Hearts will now be played at Murrayfield rather than Hampden Park.

The BBC report that the initial plan was to host the match on 28 October at Hampden on the same day as the other semi-final, Aberdeen v Rangers.

Brendan Rodgers’ men will now kick off at the earlier time of 1.30 pm having initially been handed an evening tie.

Both Hearts and Aberdeen expressed concerns about the arrangements when the fixtures were originally released, and earlier today we reported that Celtic had requested a ballot to decide which tie moved to Murrayfield.

It is now clear that will not be the case, and the Bhoys and their supporters will have to re-arrange travel plans for the day.

Should Celtic make it past Hearts, the club will be looking to win the competition for the third successive year when the final takes place at the start of December.
