Celtic Roll Out Lennoxtown Welcome for Chelsea Teen as Transfer Business Accelerates

Celtic have stepped up their summer transfer business, with highly-rated Chelsea teenager Landon Emenalo now emerging as another exciting potential arrival.

The 18-year-old left-back has reportedly been given a VIP tour of Lennoxtown and Celtic Park. A season-long loan move from Chelsea is now said to be close.

Emenalo has been identified as potential cover for Kieran Tierney. However, this looks like much more than simply adding another body to the squad.

The youngster has represented both England and the United States at youth level. He also featured three times for Chelsea during pre-season.

Celtic move for Emenalo gathers pace

Chelsea clearly rate Emenalo highly and want regular football to continue his development.

A season in Glasgow could provide exactly that opportunity. Celtic would also gain a talented young defender hungry to make an impression.

Emenalo is the son of former Chelsea technical director Michael Emenalo. Reports suggest the teenager has already seen Celtic’s facilities and could complete his move before next week’s Champions League play-off against LASK.

That would add another intriguing option to a squad which suddenly appears to be taking shape.

Haissem Hassan has already joined Celtic from Real Oviedo on a four-year deal. The Egyptian international brings pace and attacking quality to the wide areas.

Celtic transfer business suddenly accelerating

Mika Baur also appears close to finally completing his long-awaited move from Paderborn.

Reports put the agreement at around £6.8million after Celtic had an earlier £4million offer rejected.

Paderborn boss Ralf Kettemann has effectively acknowledged the expected departure, saying the transfer was not yet finalised but that he had to assume it was going ahead.

There could be more to come.

Record Sport reports Celtic are ready to increase their interest in Hajduk Split midfielder Niko Sigur. The 22-year-old Canadian international is believed to be one of the club’s main defensive midfield targets.

Torino’s Gvidas Gineitis is another reported option for that position.

After a frustrating wait for movement, Celtic’s transfer window suddenly has genuine momentum.
